Rae also commenced her legal secretarial experience at Simpson Grierson, working for William Akel, Tracey Walker and their team specialising in media law, defamation and civil litigation.
Rae then moved within Simpson Grierson to work for Royden Hindle’s commercial litigation team. While working with Royden, Rae was asked to assist Royden and his colleagues in setting up their new venture, Park Chambers.
Rae spent a couple of years at Park Chambers, assisting with its set up and implementation of systems.
During her time at Park Chambers Rae worked with Ailsa Duffy and assisted with the administration of the Committee of Inquiry into the Centrepoint Community Growth Trust.
From there Rae took a year off from long-term employment and commenced a variety of short term and temp assignments with Sheila McCabe (then at McCabe McMahon), Bell Gully, Rennie Cox, as well as taking some time to travel.
On return to New Zealand Rae accepted a position with Tim Allan at Grove Darlow, again specialising in media law.
Tim also had a very strong “debt collection” practice, which in time Rae predominantly managed for him.
In 2004 Rae decided it was time to branch out of law and commenced a role as Executive Assistant at the Sunday Newspapers Division of media giant Fairfax Media.
She then moved on to the iconic New Zealand tap making company, Methven Limited, where she spent another few years honing her EA skills and managing the company’s HR requirements including an extensive restructuring phase.
After many years of legal and corporate experience gained from some of the country’s top organisations, Rae has now joined forces with Karla to form Type Right.
